Your presentation shows a clear understanding of your subject matter and a developed concept as to where you might take it, though your idea to use the kind of illustration and typography from the era is a good one, you should at least see how it works applying it to modern films of the same genre, or vice versa.
Also, you should check out this gallery of alternative movie posters, there's one on there for Inglorious Bastards that combines imagery more associated with films like A Bridge Too Far with modern, vector based stuff.
As always your collages look sweeet. I know you love doing them so thats cool. Only thing I can say is make sure the concept comes before the collage (obvious i know).
A moving collage would be simple to do, and would look awesome. I don't know if that is what you are doing specifically, but its an idea...
